Virgin Islan (also known as Pungtud or Pontod Island) is probably the most iconic island destinations in Bohol. It's main draw; a lenghty sandbar that curls and fades into the sea like the tail of a mischievous tadpole. The sandy runway makes for a postcard perfect backdrop! The surrounding areas are mostly grassy, though.

Balicasag Marine Sanctuary - Balicasag Island is surrounded with beautiful and colorful reefs and very ideal for snorkeling and freediving where you will find a 400-meter Marine Sanctuary of healthy corals with plenty of pelagic visitors characterized by vertical walls over deep waters with strong currents. Balicasag Island Diving in December or January can offer treats of Hammerhead sharks and sometimes Whale sharks.

Panglao Dolphin Watching - The dolphin watching starts in Alona Beach. The travel agency or whoever you arranged it with will inform you where exactly the meeting place will be. The boats will leave early in the morning between 6.30 and 7.00 AM to be able to catch the dolphins. During the trip, the boat will roam around the area where the dolphine are usually are and drive around until you find dolphins. FInding dolphins are based on weather and some bit of luck. On a lucky day, you will be presented with big pods but some days, you won't be able to find any dolphins at all.
